Walk Around Lake Girard

Since we enjoyed a sunny (albeit cold) day today, I decided to run over to a nearby lake at golden hour. We didn't get a full hour, but we did get some nice shots.
Minnesota River, Shakopee, MN

It was a spectacular fall day today, so I drove down to the river. The leaves haven't started turning much yet, but I managed to find a few good shots. I tried my hand again at a few High Dynamic Range (HDR) images, like this thumbnail shot. I may finally be getting the hang of them. Even found what looked like a few sandpipers.

Mill Ruins Park--Sept. 6, 2008

Today we took a walk down by Ole Miss. Big Mud. The Mighty Mississippi. It runs through Minneapolis, you know. We saw the ruins of an old flour mill, and the new Guthrie Theater (an engineering marvel). And we saw the river.
Cheerleading Kickoff 2008

Thought I'm not known for school spirit, it was fun to see Robyn and the cheer squad head out for the open of the fall sports season. They did a great job, then we took some shots in the back yard. Go team!
Hope Walks

Hope Walks is an event put together by CPC and Upper Room to raise money for AIDs victims in the Congo. Over 650 people walked and raised more than $20,000! A great day...

I saw it coming for 2 hours. Tracked it on radar and everything. The clouds became amazing just before it it. I ran out and took these.
Minnehaha Falls

Last week, Katie needed to get out and take some pictures for photo. So I blew out of work early and we headed down to Minnehaha park. There's a pretty impressive falls there, and some other nice scenery. This is what we ended up with.

Eclipse

On February 20, 2008, there was a complete lunar eclipse. It was also -8 outside. I braved the cold to capture a five shot sequence over about an hour to get most of it. I missed the full moon, but got the full eclipse.
